Culinary Arts and Baking/Pastry Internships and Work Programs Students in these majors are required to complete three cooperative education courses prior to graduation. These include CHEF 1380, CHEF 2380, and CHEF 2381. For each class, the student must have 320 hours (960 total) of documented industry work experience with a signed agreement between the workplace and Del Mar College. Documentation may include a monthly record of hours worked in particular competency areas, journal, employer survey, and site visits by instructor. Other classroom based assignments include completion of a resume, portfolio, and business plan.
