This program will cover some of the knowledge and skills needed in the area of electrical, mechanical, and maintenance of physical facilities. It will also cover handling and disposal of hazardous waste.

The building maintenance program is designed to teach general maintenance skills in many different crafts. General maintenance mechanics repair and maintain machines, mechanical equipment, buildings, electrical and air conditioning and heating systems. They also maintain and repair specialized equipment and machinery found in cafeterias, laundries, hospitals, stores, offices, and factories. Typical duties include troubleshooting and fixing faulty electrical switches, repairing air conditioning motors, and unclogging drains.
