Graduation is not only an exciting time for students but also for their families and friends. For General Education Development (GED) students completing their high school equivalency certificates from Del Mar College’s program, graduation represents a major accomplishment not to be missed.
On Thursday, June 21, the College’s GED Program will award certificates to approximately 110 individuals participating during their graduation ceremony out of the 167 students who have completed the program since July 2011. This year’s keynote speaker is Dr. Roland Quezada, Director for School Leadership Services with the Corpus Christi Independent School District.
To ensure parents, grandparents, spouses, children and best friends have the opportunity to see graduates walking across the stage in Richardson Performance Hall, Del Mar College will broadcast the event live on Digital Cable Channel 19 (Time Warner Cable and Grande Cable only) beginning at 7 p.m.
Del Mar College will also Webcast the ceremony live beginning 15 minutes before the 7 p.m. event starts. Individuals can view the ceremony by going to www.delmar.edu/webcasts.aspx.
In June and July, Del Mar TV will rebroadcast the ceremony on Channel 19 in Corpus Christi through Time Warner Cable and Grande Cable only as follows: 10 a.m. on July 5 and 12; 7 p.m. on July 3 and 10; 9 p.m. on June 30 and July 7; and 10 p.m. on June 28 and July 5 and 12.
DVDs of the ceremony will be available for purchase at the Business and Registration Services desk in the Center for Economic Development (3209 S. Staples) for $20 each. DVDs pre-ordered by phone can be mailed for an additional $2 fee to cover shipping and handling.
DVD sales begin next Wednesday, June 27, at the Center. Visa and MasterCard charges will be accepted. For further information about DVD purchases and to place orders, call the Center at 361-698-1328.
