The Del Mar College Board of Regents announced the process for replacing Regent James Duerr, who represented District 4 on the nine-member board, during today’s meeting. Regent Duerr resigned earlier this month due to conflicts with his professional schedule.
The appointment to the Board will extend until the November 2014 election.
Individuals interested in filling the DMC Board position need to submit the prescribed materials for consideration by the Board. Criteria include:
• Candidate must be a resident of DMC District 4 and a registered voter, and
• Candidate should submit a letter of interest and a resume with supporting documents relevant to their qualifications to the President’s Office either by mail (President’s Office, Del Mar College, 101 Baldwin Blvd., Corpus Christi, Texas 78404-3897) or in person (Room 133, Heldenfels Administration Building, Del Mar College East Campus, Ayers Street).
The deadline to submit materials for consideration is noon on Thursday, Aug. 9. Selected applicants need to be prepared for interviews with Board members the morning of Tuesday, Aug. 14.
The Del Mar College Board of Regents includes nine regents in a modified single-member district configuration. Five regents represent specific geographic districts, including District 4 for which the Board will fill, while four serve at-large. The Del Mar College District includes all the area in the Calallen, Corpus Christi, Flour Bluff, Tuloso-Midway and West Oso Independent School Districts.
