Youth from around the Coastal Bend who love to sing have the opportunity to become part of the Del Mar Children’s Chorus. Sponsored by Del Mar College’s Music Department and the Del Mar Master Chorus, the community chorus is organized for youth ages 7 to 14 who want to develop their singing skills, create musical artistry and build great friendships through choral music.
Auditions for the 2012-2013 performance season run Aug. 1 through Sept. 7. Advance registration is required of all singers, both new and returning, with a membership fee of $150. Financial aid is available.
Completed registration forms and a $25 deposit must be submitted by Friday, Sept. 7. Younger boys and girls auditioning for the chorus must be age 7 by Sept. 1.
Returning members may call or email Ouida Bliss Richardson, DMC adjunct instructor and artistic director of the Del Mar Children’s Chorus, to obtain a registration form. Singers new to the Children’s Chorus must complete a placement audition before registering. The placement audition is noncompetitive and informal, does not require advance preparation and will take no more than 10 minutes. Age, experience and skill will determine placement.
For more information about the chorus, to acquire a registration form or to schedule an audition, contact Richardson at 361-563-8148 or email@example.com.
