In the first year, the student should acquire a foundation in architectural drawing, building materials, and methods of construction, along with training in mathematics, physics, and communication skills. In the second year, the student should build on this background and take up commercial building types in architecture and construction, as well as surveying, building service systems, contracts, codes, specifications, computer applications, and estimating. The student planning to continue at a senior college should consult an advisor concerning degree requirements of the college to which transfer is intended.
