Transfer Information Currently the only degrees awarded in Surgical Technology are the Certificate and Associate Degrees. While there is not currently a Surgical Technology degree above Associate level that graduates might transfer into, the classes (other than SRGT classes) transfer toward more advanced degrees for those students wishing to continue their education in Nursing or other fields. Associate in Applied Science (AAS) Degree – The AAS Degree is designed to prepare students to enter the workforce in one of the identified Del Mar College career and technical programs. Responsibilities for Transfer Degrees It is your responsibility to know the specific requirements of the college or university to which you plan to transfer. This responsibility includes knowing course requirements, number of credit hours accepted and grade-point average for admission. You should consult with your academic advisor at the earliest opportunity after being admitted to Del Mar College and begin developing an education plan. Thereafter, you should confer with the advisor regularly each semester while completing the education plan toward the associate degree. Where transferability permits, course substitution is permitted on recommendation of advisor and approval of both the dean of your major area and the dean over the course in question.
