Program Overview

The Associate of Arts in Teaching Grades 8-12 Speech satisfies the lower-division requirements for a bachelor’s degree leading to initial Texas certification to teach speech in a high school. The course work introduces students to the fields of public speaking, interpersonal communication, business and professional communication, small group communication, argumentation and debate, and oral interpretation.
