All students who completed a Gainful Employment certificate program and were granted a certificate between July 1, 2009 and June 30, 2010 are included in this calculation.  The ID numbers of all completers were submitted by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board to the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) in accordance with the Automated Student and Adult Learner Follow-Up System (ASALFS).  Matches to the TWC’s UI wage database are collected and shared with the Coordinating Board.  The Coordinating Board then calculated employment rates by program for each CIP category for the certificate completers.  The 2009-2010 graduates’ IDs were matched to the FY 2010 fourth-quarter TWC employment records.  The employment rates are based on employment in any field, not just jobs in the field of study.
