Summary of Operating Procedures
Syllabi
- Prepare a syllabus for each class you teach
- Submit one hard copy of each syllabus to your department Chairperson.
- Check with your Chair for dates of submission.

12th Day Official Class Rolls
|
Verify that all the names of the students in the class match the list of names on the roster.
|
Drop Dates
|
Official drop dates http://www.delmar.edu/catalog/calendar.html.
Notify students: If they stop attending class without officially withdrawing from the College, grade is an automatic "F". If the
student chooses to withdraw, s\he must go to the Registrar's Office in person to withdraw from class. The drop date for Fall 2005
is Monday, November 28. Students will receive an automatic "W" if the drop is made prior to, or, on the official drop date.

Final Exams
- Submit one hard copy (and diskette) of the final exam to your department chair.
- Submit two hard copies of the grades from your grade book.

NOTE: If a student is to receive an "I" or an "F", document the last day the student attended class. Students receiving an "I"
will have one semester to complete any course requirements to change the grade from an "I" to another grade. There must be a
mutual written agreement between the student and the instructor on the requirements necessary for the completion of the course at
a date later than the last day of the semester in which the student has enrolled in the class.

Grade Reporting
- All grades must be entered via the Web Grade Reporting System.
- The College's Help Desk will issue passwords/codes to instructors by appointment. The Help Desk staff will also notify
departmental offices when instructors' passwords/codes have been assigned and are ready for pick up. (In order to pick up passwords/codes,
instructors must have their College ID Badge.)

Identification Badges
- Chairs will submit your name to the Security Office.
- Call the Security Office for arrangements to get an ID Badge.
- Security office hours are as follows:
Monday - Thursday: 8 - 10 a.m., noon to 2 p.m., 4 to 5 p.m., and 6 to 7 p.m.
Fridays: 8 - 10 a.m. and noon to 3 p.m.

Absence Reports
Student Evaluations (Fall & Spring Semesters)
- All adjunct instructors will be evaluated by their students in all their classes.
- You may be asked to conduct the evaluation of another adjunct instructor's class while your class completes an evaluation
of your class.

Weather Conditions
- Students and College employees should check for updated messages using the DMC Information Line at 698-1600 as
well as check with local television and radio stations for updates due to changes in weather conditions.
- College faculty, staff, and students are expected to make their own decisions regarding their travel abilities to and from
each campus and take precautions for their safety.

Supplies
|
The Chairperson of your department will assist you with needed supplies.
|
Duplicating Services
|
Contact department secretary regarding the process for duplicating classroom materials
|
Mail & Messages
|
All mail and messages will be placed in your mailbox. Regularly, check your mailboxes.
|
Keys
|
Keys to your classroom(s) are issued to you through your Chairperson or Dean. You must complete and sign a Key Card form to
receive office keys. Unless otherwise instructed by your Chair or Dean, keys must be returned at the end of the semester.

Cell Phones
|
Cell phones should not be used during class time unless it is an emergency.
|
Confidential Information
|
All student information is confidential. Please do not disclose student information to anyone other than the student.
|
Payroll Checks
- Fall Semester-after grades have been submitted, payroll checks will be disseminated in December.
- Spring Semester-the first payroll check will be disseminated at the end of the month in February.
- Summer Sessions-summer pay is divided into two or three pay periods (depending on whether one is teaching during the Six-, Nine-, or Twelve-week Summer Session).

Library A/V Scheduling
|
Call the Learning Resources, East Campus at 698-1309 or Library , West Campus to schedule use of audio
visual equipment Requests for your classroom.

Helpdesk
|
Call 698-2330, the College Helpdesk, when computer problems arise during your class lecture.
Helpdesk office hours:
Monday thru Thursday: 7:30 a.m.-7:30 p.m.
Fridays: 7:30 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Saturdays: Call 698-1300. Follow automated instructions.
Report any other problems to departmental office.
