Del Mar College is offering Court Reporting Skills Test Preparation over the Internet. Del Mar College is a Corpus Christi , Texas community college with affordable classes for everyone. Participants receive a "CD-ROM" containing over 80 hours of dictation, focusing on:

180 Literary (speeds up to 240 wpm)
200 Jury Charge (speeds up to 250 wpm)
225 Testimony (speeds up to 275 wpm)
Drills are on varied material, including Medical and Legal Opinion. Dictation also contains 20 mock CSR/RPR exams (180 Lit, 200 JC, 225 QA) and 25 mock CRR/CBC/CCP exams (180 wpm of straight matter) and 5 mock RMR exams (200 wpm Lit, 240 wpm JC, 260 wpm QA).
Participants will enroll for the semester, receive the materials, and have time flexibility to finish the class. After taking mock exams, participants E-mail the exams (optional) to Del Mar College for grading (following NCRA grading standards), and graded mock exams will be E-mailed back to participants.
In addition, participants may meet in teacher/student chat rooms occasionally (optional) to discuss court reporting issues and network with other reporters and students across the nation.
Minimal Internet and computer skills are required.
Participants completing the course will receive the following:
- Grade of Pass/Fail, based on participation
- 4 semester hours of college credit
- Applicable continuing education credits (state and national associations)
- CSR/RPR/CRR/CBC/CCP and RMR exams
- Refinement of the skills necessary to seek additional certifications
- Over 80 hours of dictation to write in realtime
- Internet class experience
