About Us

Del Mar College offers world-class educational programs for recent high school graduates, adult learners and dual credit students on three campuses, two education centers and through online and offsite instruction. The College matches the culture of the Texas Coastal Bend community by serving students in a range of ages, ethnic origins and educational pursuits. The majority of our students attend part time and benefit from receiving some form of financial aid. The average student age is 24 years and women make up about three-fifths of DMC students.

In 2021, the College launched its first bachelor’s degree program – the Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree – for registered nurses seeking to advance their careers.

In 2022, DMC began offering classes at the new Oso Creek Campus at Yorktown Boulevard and Rodd Field Road, the College’s first new campus in over 60 years. The campus went into full operation in January 2023.

History and Tradition

Del Mar College has prepared tens of thousands of credit and noncredit students to achieve their dreams since 1935. College alumni have completed bachelors and advanced degrees or entered the career world. DMC diplomas and certificates hang on the walls of professionals across the world who are leaders in business, industry, healthcare, creative arts, finance, science, communications and technology.

Educating students from across South Texas for almost 90 years has produced rich institutional history and time-honored traditions.

Hall of Fame

Del Mar College’s Hall of Fame represents a distinguished group of approximately 390 student inductees whose leadership skills and high academic standards have been officially recognized by the College since 1949. At the end of each spring semester, outstanding students from the current academic year are selected for induction. These student leaders’ framed photographs and lists of achievements are displayed on the first and second floors of the Harvin Student Center on the Heritage Campus.

Wall of Honor

The Del Mar College Foundation has paid tribute to the distinguished achievements and services of more than 80 alumni by inducting them into Del Mar College’s prestigious Wall of Honor. Located on the first floor of the Harvin Student Center on the Heritage Campus, the Wall of Honor serves as a place to honor these distinguished former students who have made their mark with local, regional and national achievements in a variety of professions.
