MINUTES OF THE CALLED MEETING
OF THE BOARD OF REGENTS OF DEL MAR COLLEGE
CORPUS CHRISTI JUNIOR COLLEGE DISTRICT
NOVEMBER 9, 1998
 

The Called Meeting of the Board of Regents of the Corpus Christi Junior College District opened in the La Palma Room of the Harvin Center, East Campus, at 12:00 noon on Monday, November 9, 1998, with the following present:

From the Board:
Mrs. Mary Helen Dunnam, Mrs. Olga Gonzales, and Mr. Jacob Munoz.
From the College:
Dr. Terry Dicianna, President; Mr. J. L. Alaniz, Vice President of Business and Finance; Dr. Richard Armenta, Vice President of Instruction and Student Development; Mrs. Vickie C. Natale, Dean of Administrative Services; Ms. Claudia Jackson, Assistant to the President; Mr. John Johnson, Internal Auditor; Ms. Barbara Riley, Secretary to the Vice President, Business and Finance; Ms. Angie Limas, Secretary to the Dean of Administrative Services; and other faculty, administrators, and staff members.
From the Attorney=s Office:

Others Present:
Mrs. Dorothy Spann, Board of Regents candidate from District 2; Mrs. Beverly Winters, Board of Regents candidate from District 5; and Mrs. Chris Adler, Board of Regents candidate at-large.
Mr. Jacob Munoz, president of the Board, presided and called the meeting to order.

The Del Mar College Board of Regents= election was held on Tuesday, November 3, 1998. The election documents were made available to teams consisting of Board members and College staff to canvass the results. Board President Munoz read an Order declaring the official results:

District 2: District 5: At-Large:

3,188 Dorothy Spann

A motion was made by Mrs. Dunnam and seconded by Mrs. Gonzales to declare that Mrs. Dorothy Spann received the greatest number of votes in District 2; that Mrs. Beverly Winters received the greatest number of votes in District 5; and Mrs. Chris Adler received the greatest number of votes at-large, and that all three are declared the winners. The motion carried unanimously. (This Order will be recorded as Document #98-20 in the Official Minutes Book of the Board.)

Mr. Munoz congratulated the newly elected Board members and reminded them that it will be necessary for the elected Regents to sign the appropriate statements, including one notarized statement which must be filed with and received by the Secretary of State prior to taking the oath of office. Administration of the oath has been arranged for the November 17, 1998, Board meeting. The organization of the Board will be on the agenda for the Regents meeting on November 17, 1998.
