A survey of the structure, organization, and operation of probation and parole services. Emphasis on applicable state statutes and administrative guidelines. Assessment Levels: R2, E2, M1.
CJCR 1340. MANAGING FEMALE OFFENDERS (3-0-3) 43.0102
Study of women as offenders, criminal lifestyles, corrections for women, crimes committed by women against children and women and drugs. Includes causative factors related to offenses. Assessment Levels: R2, E2, M1.
CJCR 1400. BASIC JAIL COURSE (3-3-4) 43.0102
Provides instruction in human relations, observation, evaluation of prisoners, booking procedures, classification, mug shots, fingerprinting, strip searches, meals, medical services, visitation, inmates rights and privileges, detention areas, key, knife and tool control, disturbances, riots, fire procedures and release procedures. Taught in accordance with the current TCLEOSE instructor guides provided by the Commission for course #1005.
CJCR 2325. LEGAL ASPECTS OF CORRECTIONS (3-0-3) 43.0102
A study of the operation, management and legal issues affecting corrections. Analysis of constitutional issues involving rights of the convicted, as well as civil liability of correctional agencies and staff. Assessment Levels: R2, E2, M1.
