The general objective of the curriculum is to offer professional-level education to meet personnel needs in the field of modern fire science and fire prevention.

Fire Science Technology is offered in cooperation with the Corpus Christi Fire Department under the rules and regulations approved by the Texas Commission on Fire Protection (TCFP) Personnel Standards and Education.

The student planning to continue at a senior college should consult an advisor concerning degree requirements of the college to which transfer is intended.

For all individuals who are TCFP certified personnel and individuals not certified planning to take the test for a Basic Fire and Arson Investigator with the Texas Commission on Fire Protection. All individuals must also have a current commission as a Basic Peace Officer with the TCLEOSE, complete all course work and certificate issued before applying for the examination.
