Principles of Real Estate I (0111)
RELE 1002. An overview of real estate ethics of practice, titles to and conveyancing of real estate, legal descriptions, law of agency, deeds, encumbrances and liens, distinctions between personal and real property, closing procedures, and real estate mathematics. Also includes federal, state, and local laws relating to housing discrimination.

Appraisal (0211)
RELE 1004. A study of the central purposes and functions of an appraisal, social and economic determinant of value, appraisal case studies, cost, market data and income approaches to value estimates, final correlations, and reporting.

Investment (0911)
RELE 1008. Financing, evaluation, and management of real estate investment. Emphasis on real estate investment characteristics, techniques of investment analysis, time valued money, discounted investment criteria, leverage, and applications to property tax implications of owning real estate.

Property Management (0811)
RELE 1016. A study of the role of the property manager, owner policies operational guidelines, lease negotiations, tenant relations, maintenance, reports, habitability laws, and the Fair Housing Act.

Law of Contracts (1400)
RELE 1012. This course covers real estate/principles involved in promulgated contracts. Included are contracts for VA, FHA, conventional, and owner financed.

Finance (0411)
RELE 1020. An overview of the U.S. monetary system, primary and secondary money markets, sources of mortgage loans, federal government programs, loan applications, process and procedures, closing costs, alternative Instruments, laws affecting mortgage lending, and the State Housing Agency.

Marketing (0511)
RELE 1022. A study of real estate professionalism and ethics, characteristics of successful salespersons, time management, psychology of marketing, listing procedures, advertising, negotiating and closing financing, and the deceptive trade practice act, consumer act, and commercial code.

Math (0611)
RELE 1026. Mathematical logic and basic arithmetic skills including percentages, interest, time-valued money, depreciation, amortization, proration, and estimation of closing statement.

Principles of Real Estate II (0112)
RELE 1039. An overview of appraisal practices, finance, math, investments, and practical procedures while working as an agent.

Exam Prep
RELE 1058. Covers updated information for the real estate examinations and prepares you for the state exams. This class meets on Thursdays.

Law of Agency (1111)
RELE 2002. A study of law of agency including principal-agent and master-servant relationships the authority of an agent, the termination of an agent's authority, the fiduciary and other duties of an agent, employment law, deceptive trade practices, listing or buying procedures, and the disclosure of and agency.

MCE Update
RELE 2000. Provider #0110 Course #07-06-127-3932. This seven-hour course complies with the six hours of legal and ethics and one hour of elective credit.

MCE Update
RELE 2003. Provider #0110 Course #15-06-047-4167. The Del Mar College Fast-Track Real Estate Program has been approved by the Texas Real Estate Commission to provide the 15-hour MCE course entitled Keeping Current With Texas Real Estate. This course complies with the new MCE requirement six hours of legal and ethics and nine hours of elective credit.

Residential Inspection for Real Estate (1021)
RELE 2006. A study of the different types of building systems and materials used in the design and construction of real property. Covers residential construction and commercial building systems and materials. Includes different structural building systems with emphasis on wood-related products, concrete and concrete masonry, brick, stone, and steel units. The Texas Real Estate Commission Promulgated Property Condition Addendum will be addressed along with Inspector and client agreements, tools and procedures, and electromechanical systems.

Mortgage Lending (PENDING APPROVAL BY SML)
RELE 2012. This 30 hour course will prepare students to take the Texas pre license examination required by the Mortgage Broker License Act. The course includes two hours of ethics, Real Estate Settlement Act, Truth in Lending, Equal Credit Opportunity Act, and the provision of the mortgage Broker License Act, and general loan terms and market practices.

CE - Mortgage Lending (PENDING APPROVAL BY SML)
RELE 1091. This 15 hour course fulfills renewal education requirements for Mortgage Brokers and for Loan Officers. Eight hours of this class covers general industry related information and ethics and the remainder covers loan origination and processing, and underwriting.
