College for Kids - Summer Only

General Information
The College For Kids program is designed to provide area students with an enjoyable educational opportunity that is different from the normal school experience. Students will have the opportunity to explore new academic areas, upgrade basic skill concepts, create special interests, meet new friends, and participate in a structured, informative, non-pressured educational environment. Classes are available for students entering grades six through twelve.

Classes meet Monday-Thursday, 1-5 p.m.

Eligibility
Any student entering the 6th through 8th grade is eligible, however the majority of students are current 5th graders.

Registration
Registration will be held at the Center For Economic Development at the intersection of Staples & Kostoryz. Parents/guardians may register students in person or by phone (using MasterCard or Visa). Payment of tuition and fees MUST accompany registration form in order for the process to be complete. STUDENT'S SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER IS REQUIRED. Registration hours are as follows:

Monday -Thursday 7:30 a.m.-6:30 p.m.
Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Saturday, 7:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

Fee and Refund Policy
Refunds may be made under these conditions:

  1. A 100% refund will be made automatically if the College exercises its right to cancel a class or if a class is full at the time your registration is received. A class is canceled when there is insufficient enrollment.
  2. A 100% refund will be honored if requested one working day prior to class beginning.
    No refund will be issued to students who have been terminated from this program for inappropriate behavior.

Class schedules
Students should indicate class preferences by selecting a first, second, and third choice for each class period. Class assignments will be on a first-come, first-served basis. All Del Mar College afternoon classes will be held on the East Campus.

Books and Supplies
Books and/or supplies may be required for a particular course. The cost of the book or supplies will be in addition to the tuition and fees charged. Book and supply list will be furnished at registration if required.

Discipline
Students will have qualified instructional supervision during class time. No direct supervision of students will take place while students change classes. Parents will take responsibility for seeing that their son/daughter complies with appropriate college student behavior guidelines. Inappropriate behavior or discipline problems will result in dismissal from the program and refund will not be given. Parents will also be financially responsible for any loss to Del Mar College's physical facilities or equipment that is the direct result of their child's inappropriate behavior.

Transportation
Parents/guardians are expected to provide daily transportation for students to their classes. Students should arrive no earlier than 30 minutes before classes begin and be picked up no later than 30 minutes after classes end.

Insurance
Parents/guardians and students should be aware that they are responsible for their own private health and accident insurance.

Advertisement
Photographs of your child may be taken during program participation and may be used in future publications.
