The GED (General Educational Development) certificate is accepted as equivalent to a high school diploma. The GED Program at Del Mar College helps prepare students to take and pass the GED test. Presently, there are five different subtests students must take to get their GED. The five subtests are Literature and Arts/Writing, Literature and Arts/Reading, Social Studies, Science, and Mathematics. Classes are offered in all areas but special emphasis is placed on reading, writing, and mathematics. A Transition Liaision is available to work exclusively with program graduates to help them transition into higher education or vocational training.
