The Computer Science (CIS) Department offers a variety of options to meet the needs of today's information technology (IT) specialist. The department provides quality workforce training and education to meet the needs of local and national industries.

The curriculum in each specialization uses extensive "hands on" experiences to support theory and problem solving. Course work is extremely relevant to industry needs. Contemporary computer workstations, adherence to current information technology processes, use of industry standard programming languages, industry standard operating systems, and software applications are employed. Students will be introduced to a variety of computer information environments, such as mainframe, mini-computer, personal computers, and client-server.
