Computer Information Systems

Del Mar College provides CIS students with facilities that support extensive "hands on" experiences as well as traditional atmospheres for learning and study.


Open Lab Schedule

	The Computer Information Systems (CIS) department is located in the B. R. Venters Business Building. In 1995 the building was renamed in honor of former Del Mar President Buddy R. Venters who retired after 40 years of service.
Computer Classroom This is one of the many technologically advanced classrooms in the computer department. Each computer operates with Windows 98 or a higher operating system and is connected to the Internet.
	CISCO Classroom The CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) class supports introductory network classes on how to install, configure, and operate simple-routed LAN, routed WAN, and switched LAN networks.
CISCO Advanced Classroom The CCNP (CISCO Certified Networking Professional) class involves complex networking concepts such as troubleshooting tools and more sophisticated configurations including routers, switches, and bridges.

NT Server Room NT Server Room supports the faculty server and other NT servers that support classroom instruction.
	Hardware Room This classroom has been set aside for students to dismantle PC hardware and put it back together in working condition.
Lecture Hall RM 100
Conference Room Conference room located on the third floor of the VB building.
	Study Room Students study for finals in this quiet nook located on the 2nd floor of the VB building.
Student Lounge The student lounge located on the second floor in Room 200 of the B. R. Venters Business Building provides a relaxing and quiet atmosphere for students to study and/or grab a snack.
