Welcome to Reading
The Reading Discipline at Del Mar College offers a comprehensive reading program designed to help students strengthen their reading skills in order to be successful in their college courses.
Students are placed in the appropriate reading class based on standardized tests scores from one of the following tests —THEA, COMPASS, Accuplacer or SAT.
Our facilities include a Reading Lab with both computerized and print materials that is available to all Del Mar College students.
Reading faculty stay current with best teaching practices through professional organizations such as the National Association of Developmental Education (NADE) and the College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA).
