How many semesters am I eligible to receive this scholarship?
You can receive this scholarship up to four long semesters (fall and spring), or until the end of the grant (Spring 2008), whichever comes first.
When will I know if I will receive the scholarship?
The Scholarship Committee usually selects scholarship winners within 2 - 3 weeks after the application deadline. Regardless of whether or not you are selected, you will receive a letter in the mail from the Scholarship Committee informing you of their decision.
Scholarship checks are printed and distributed by the Business Office, and are usually mailed within two to three weeks after you have received your scholarship award letter. You can check with the Cashier's Office to see if your check has been printed. Checks are mailed to the address listed in your student information, not to the address in your scholarship application.
What if I am not selected this semester?
Just because you were not selected for this semester does not necessarily mean that you won't be eligible in the future to receive this scholarship. There are many factors taken into account each semester when the Scholarship Committee selects students who will receive the scholarship, including how many new scholarships are available that particular semester. Do I need to reapply to receive the scholarship next semester?
As long as you continue to meet the minimum enrollment, grade, and participation requirements of this scholarship, you will not need to reapply.
Can I continue receiving the scholarship after I transfer?
No - this scholarship is for students attending Del Mar College only. However, you may want to check with the college or university to which you are transferring to see if they offer a CSEM scholarship. CSEM is a federal grant, and many other schools offer it as well.
Can I receive this scholarship for a summer semester?
No - this scholarship is only available for fall and spring semesters.
