DMC Debit Card

Beginning Spring 2008, Del Mar College is introducing the new DMC Debit Card designed to simplify students’ finances while in College. The card speeds up the process for receiving refunds on tuition and fees and for financial aid disbursements.

New service to Del Mar College students

Del Mar College has partnered with HigherOne, a financial service company, to bring new financial options to students of Del Mar College. With the new DMC Debit Card, students will enjoy a new method of refund disbursement as well as an optional checking account with HigherOne that serves as a great tool to manage College expenses.

Electronic Options with Refund Disbursements

Beginning in January 2008, all students will receive financial aid and tuition refunds via the DMC Debit Card. With the DMC Debit Card, refunds will be delivered in the manner the student selects at http://www.DMCDebitCard.com. The three options to choose from are listed below:

  1. Deposit into the free HigherOne OneAccount (Checking account linked to the DMC Debit Card) - student will receive the funds the same day Del Mar College processes the refunds or financial aid disbursements.
  2. Direct Deposit to a third party bank - 2 to 3 business days to receive refund or financial aid.
  3. Paper check - 5 to 10 business days to receive refund or financial aid.

DMC Debit Card and OneAccount

The DMC Debit Card is a Debit MasterCard providing purchasing power at millions of locations worldwide and online. The OneAccount is a checking account (tied to the DMC Debit Card), which offers free checking with no minimum balance and no monthly fees. Students of Del Mar College are automatically pre-approved for the OneAccount. Even students who do not receive refunds or financial aid from Del Mar College can look forward to this new financial option as a means of managing expenses while in school.

What students need to do first
Update their address - The new DMC Debit Card will be mailed to the student’s current address on file with Del Mar College. Students should visit the Office of Admissions and Registrar at the Harvin Student Center (DMC-East) or the General Purpose Building (DMC-West) to verify their address and to make a change if the address is not correct.

Students may also view their address online with MyDMC, although they must still go to the Admissions and Registrar Office to make a change. Here are the steps for viewing a student address online:

  1. Log in to MyDMC with your username and password.
  2. Click on the Student Information Services (SIS) icon.
  3. Click on Student Information Services and Financial Aid
  4. In the menu bar, under Personal Information, select the Addresses including emergency contacts and next of kin option. This will provide you with the address(es) you currently have on file with the College. If your address is not correct, please go to the Admissions and Registrar Office as soon as possible to update it.
  5. NOTE: Please do not click the "Add a new address" link; you will not be able to add an address using the online system.

Come by the Office of Admissions and Registrar Office to confirm your address, or confirm your address by phone by calling (361) 698-1255.
