DHYG 1319. DENTAL MATERIALS (2-3-3) 51.0602
Study of dental materials including the physical and chemical properties and application of the various materials used in dentistry. Student experiences include manipulation of dental materials in the lab setting. Assessment Levels: R3, E2,M2.


DHYG 1361. CLINICAL DENTAL HYGIENIST (0-15-3) 51.0602
A method of instruction providing detailed education, training, and work-based experience and direct patient/client care, generally at a clinical site. Specific detailed learning objectives are developed for each course by the faculty. On-site clinical instruction, supervision, evaluation, and placement in the responsibility of the College faculty. Clinical experiences are unpaid external learning experiences. Course may be repeated if topics and learning outcomes vary. Prerequisite: DHYG 1431. Assessment Levels: R3, E2, M2.


DHYG 2363. CLINICAL DENTAL HYGIENIST (0-15-3) 51.0602

DHYG 1227. PREVENTIVE DENTAL HYGIENE CARE (2-0-2) 51.0602
Study of the dental hygienist in the dental health care system and the basic concepts of disease prevention and health promotion. Communication and behavior modification skills are emphasized to facilitate the role of the dental hygienist as an educator. Prerequisite: DHYG 1431. Assessment Levels: R3,E2,M2.
