What is Smarthinking?
Smarthinking is an online tutoring service that is available for a number of subjects. Del Mar College realizes that our students, particularly those enrolled in our Web-based courses, may not be able to attend campus-based tutoring sessions. Students may also have questions long after normal campus-based tutoring offices have closed for the day. For this reason, Del Mar College is offering the Smarthinking Tutoring Service.

When can I access the tutors?

Is there any cost associated when I use Smarthinking?
No. There is no additional cost to Del Mar College students for Smarthinking services.

Who are the Smarthinking tutors?
Smarthinking tutors are graduate students, college faculty, high school teachers and retired educators. All tutors undergo a comprehensive training program. Training is given to assist students in understanding concepts rather than simply giving answers. All tutoring sessions are saved in your own personal academic home page for printing or review.

Students can also use the Smarthinking service by:
- Submitting a question and getting a response, usually within 24 hours
- Scheduling an appointment with a tutor
