Introduction

slacker image"Man, this semester is going to be a breeze! All of my classes are online. I'll sit in front of a computer, tap a few keys and work at home. No more long drives to campus. No more cruising the parking lots looking for a parking space. No more sitting in a classroom listening to a boring professor. No more dodging classroom questions."

The student involved with online learning may think that they have it made. And the online environment does have several advantages over traditional courses. However, students must be aware that the amount of time required for online classes will be as much, and many times more, than traditional classes. Time management will be critical to the successful completion of any online course.

"What? That doesn't make sense. I'm just a student. Time management is only for harried executives in large corporations. Right?"
