The Distance Learning Course Request form is for use by faculty to request all WebCT-based courses, whether for use in augmenting a seat-based class or for teaching a totally online course. Please note that all WebCT course shell requests must now be submitted using this form. E-mail and in-person course shell requests without the use of this form will no longer be processed.
A valid DMC e-mail address is required to create a WebCT course. If you do not have a DMC e-mail address, please contact the DMC Helpdesk by calling 361-698-2330 or e-mail helpdesk@delmar.edu.
You will be notified by DMC e-mail when your WebCT course shell has been created. Course shells are normally created within one working day after being requested. However, allow additional time for requests during peak periods such as the weeks preceding the beginning of a new term.
Once your shell has been created, your students must be manually added to your course before it becomes visible to your students. For a refesher on the student import process, review the tutorial Adding Students, available in both text and video formats.
Please fill out all of the following information, and include a phone number where you can be easily reached in case questions arise. When finished, click the Submit button.
IMPORTANT: To be eligible for a WebCT course shell, you must have either successfuly completed the four-module WebCT workshop series or have significant and successful WebCT course development and teaching experience. Contact the Distance Learning Department if you have questions.
