Scholarship Opportunities


"Early Bird" audition for new, incoming students only is Saturday, February 23, 2008 from 4:30-6:30pm. Auditioners are invited to attend a performance of "Showcase: Feiffer's People" at 7:30pm with a reception following the performance.

Regular Auditions for returning students are Tuesday, April 22, 2008 from 4-6pm.

Regular Auditions for new, incoming students are Friday, April 25, 2008 from 4-6pm. For more information or to schedule an audition, please call (361) 698-2255. Students are invited to attend a performance of "Dancing at Lughnasa" at 7:30pm.


Nell Tribble Bartlett Endowed Theatre Scholarship

Nell Bartlett started the Drama Program at Del Mar College in 1935 and taught at the college until her retirement in 1969. The Nell Tribble Bartlett Endowed Theatre Scholarship was started in 1988 by family and friends. Every semester, $1000-$1500 from this fund is given to Drama students interested in either performance or design and technical theatre. Scholarships are awarded to students who exhibit a high level of artistic promise, academic achievement, and leadership. An audition is required.

Sue Sellors Finley Endowed Theatre Scholarship

Sue Finley revitalized the Drama Program in 1978 and taught at the college until her untimely death in 1995. The Sue Sellors Finley Endowed Theatre Scholarship was started in 1988 by family and friends. Every semester, $1000-$1500 from this fund is given to Drama students interested in either performance or design and technical theatre. Scholarships are awarded to students who exhibit a high level of artistic promise, academic achievement, and leadership. An audition is required.

Drama Program Scholarships

Drama Program Scholarships are awarded to Drama majors interested in performance. Every semester, awards range from $500-$750 per student. Scholarships are awarded based on an audition.

Design and Technical Scholarships

Design and Technical Scholarships are awarded to Drama majors interested in design and technical theatre. Every semester, awards range from $500-$750 per student. Scholarships are awarded based on a portfolio review.
