How
to Succeed in the Course, Even If You Don't Have Computer Access at Home:
-
Even though it might make things a
bit more convenient for you, you DO NOT have to have computer access at
home to do well in this course. We'll be meeting in a computer classroom,
so that will provide some of the access that you'll need.
-
Nevertheless, you'll be needing to
use a computer and web access often, so you'll need to be willing to go
to the places where you can get it.
-
And the work for this course can be
done anywhere you can find web access.
-
Del Mar provides considerable access
on campus. The two best places are probably the Student
Technology Center and the Writing
Center, a facility of the English Department. The S.T.C., on
the first floor of the Library, has two large rooms, each with 40 or 45
up-to-date computers, all with good software, printers, and fast web access.
You can find the hours when it's open by clicking here.
The Writing Center is smaller, but it has a lot of computer availability.
It's located in the English Learning Center, next to the English Building.
Hours."

Suppose you have a computer at home
but no web access. You can write your paper in Word, and then come
to school a few minutes early and stop by the S.T.C. or the Writing Center,
access the web and WebCT and post it or submit it, as needed. Just
be sure you allow enough time for it. You'll discover ways to make
these facilities work for you.
