You'll be enrolling in labs that reinforce what you learn in English 305/306, 307, or 1301 and introduce you to current technology. These required One-Hour Writing Labs expose you to writing and researching with computers.
Each level of lab has its own curriculum. In addition to lab assignments, you'll need to know how to do lab makeups, lab projects, and portfolios.
Lab Makeup
It's very important that you attend your weekly One-Hour Writing Lab. You can make up a total of 3
missed labs, but no more. If you don't make up your missed lab, 5 points per absence will be deducted
from your final English course average.
You'll need to go to the Stone Writing Center, Room 104, to get your makeup assignment and complete
it in the SWC. All makeups are 50 minutes long. If you don't spend the entire 50 minutes on the makeup,
your absence will not be removed. All makeups must be completed by an announced date each semester.
Portfolio Pandemonium
An important part of your One-Hour Writing Lab is your Lab Portfolio. This portfolio, which showcases
all your lab work, is worth one lab credit. If you need help assembling your required lab portfolio, you
can attend "Portfolio Pandemonium," a one-stop, hands-on event, to help you get organized.
