Faculty Council

Housekeeping Rules, 2005 - 2006

  1. Agenda Items:

To insure that an item will appear on the printed agenda for a meeting, it should be submitted to the Chair at least four days prior to a meeting.

  2. Procedure for Selecting the Membership of the Promotion Appeals Committee:

The Chair of the Faculty Council shall recommend the membership of the Promotion Appeals Committee to the Faculty Council. The Faculty Council shall then approve or modify this list before its submission to the President of the College. The Chair's recommendations and any modifications by the Faculty Council must conform to the current administrative policy governing this committee..

  3. Public Comments

All Faculty Council meeting agendas will provide for comments from the audience. The opportunity for "Public Comments" will be placed near the beginning of the agenda, ordinarily after "Reports," but before debate on any action items.

Public comments will be limited to five minutes per speaker; the Chair has the prerogative to grant additional time, if requested.

Other members of the Del Mar Community who desire to make an extended presentation to the Council may request a place on the agenda. The Chair has the right to limit all presentations.

Members of the audience may not address the Council during debate or at any time other than the time allotted for public comments. The Chair of the Council may occasionally recognize members of the audience in order to obtain information relative to debate.
