2. ESTABLISH AN “EDGE” This concept has been initiated but not totally implemented. Visible campus edges have been established along Edwards and Ayers Streets. The Baldwin and Naples Street sides need further definition. The recent land acquisition at the southeast of the campus should assist in defining that edge/entrance to the campus. A project to be completed in 2000 will remove the head-in parking at Baldwin Blvd.
3. ENTRY/ARRIVAL POINTS The 1986 Plan identified three locations to access the campus by students and visitors. The entry from Ayers Street is effective for visitors approaching the campus from Ayers Street. The Baldwin Entrance project will provide a second point of arrival to the College. The acquisition of property at the York Street cul-de-sac will provide the College an opportunity to have visual and vehicular access from South Staples Street - a major north/south artery in Corpus Christi. This point of entry to the campus may ultimately provide access to a multi-level parking structure adjacent to Naples Street. Reference symbols such as bell towers, kiosks or other elements will assist the visitor and student in finding their way around and locating their destinations.
