Electrical Infrastructure to Support Central Plant Upgrade:
Electrical capacity does not exist within the 480 volt electrical distribution system currently installed to support the future 1,000-ton chiller and associated equipment. Planning for the new chiller should include detailed investigation of possible alternatives for supplying electrical service.
Electrical Distribution System:
- Center for Early Learning: Service to the Center should be derived from the existing 7,200/12,470 volt distribution system such that the associated electrical loads will be registered at the primary meter. New primary service may originate at the existing switchgear adjacent to the central plant building and be delivered underground to new dedicated transformer located in close proximity to the new facility.
- Aquatic Center Addition: Service may be derived from existing primary loop feeder serving existing Aquatic Center transformer. Transformer may be replaced to provide additional capacity to serve loads associated with building addition. New 120/208 volt switchgear may be installed to backfeed existing switchgear and to serve new addition.
- Future Fine Arts Music Addition: Service may be derived from existing primary loop feeder serving existing Fine Arts Building transformer. Transformer may be replaced to provide additional capacity to serve loads associated with building addition. New 120/208 volt switchgear may be installed to backfeed existing loads and to serve new addition.
- Future Classroom Building: Service may be derived from existing primary radial feeder at electrical manhole adjacent to the Venters Business Building. Primary service may be delivered underground to new dedicated transformer located in close proximity to the new facility.
- Future Parking Garage: Service may be derived from existing primary loop feeder at electrical manhole adjacent to northwest corner of proposed building location. Primary service may be delivered underground to new dedicated transformer located in close proximity to the new facility.
