ECONOMICS INSTRUCTOR
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Masters in Economics or Masters Business Administration with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in Economics; One year experience teaching Economics or one year work experience in Economics.
PREFERRED Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to effectively communicate with adult learners, apply interactive learning strategies in the classroom and integrate computer technology into the course content. Use powerpoint, word processing, and internet applications. Teaching experience in the classroom and online at the college level.
SALARY: $43,695.00 per 9 months, plus benefits.
EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Full-time, Annual, Tenure Track. Beginning on or about January 4, 2010.
SPECIAL WORKING HOURS: Some evenings required.
TRAVEL REQUIRED: Yes, for Professional Development and Recruitment.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Teach courses in Macro and Microeconomics, recruit students, develop relationships with the business community, and provide leadership and guidance on college committees. Effectively communicate with diverse student population and advise on career and curriculum opportunities. Participate in registration and advising, serve on department and college committees, effectively work as a team member with faculty and be available for student conferences. Perform other administrative duties as assigned.
