NURSING AIDE
ADJUNCT (PART-TIME) INSTRUCTOR
ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma
or equivalent required. Licensure in the State of Texas as LVN or
RN with long-term care experience required. One (1) year of long-term
care facility experience required. PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILL/ABILITY:
Knowledge of long term care facility regulations on patient care.
Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to effectively present information to students. Ability
to utilize various teaching methods such as lectures, discussions,
and demonstrations. Ability to plan, coordinate, manage, direct
classroom, skills lab, and clinical training experience for students.
SALARY: $22.00 per contact hour.
EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Part-time, Adjunct.
SPECIAL WORKING HOURS: May have some evenings
and weekends.
TRAVEL REQUIRED: Yes, to clinical sites.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Conduct classroom and clinical
training of nurse aide students leading up to certification. Supervise
students in a clinical setting at an assigned local long-term care
nursing facility. Maintain required student records including attendance,
grading, student progress, and skills training. Work under the general
direction of the program director. Confer with the program director
regarding attendance, grading, student progress, clinical site coordination,
state licensing examination scheduling, and other pertinent information
essential to the nurse aide training program.
LOCATION: Health Care Programs, Division of Workforce and
Economic Development.
