SURGICAL TECHNOLOGY INSTRUCTOR
(TENURE TRACK)

ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS: Associate's degree
with current certification in surgical technology (CST); OR, registered
nurse with an associate's degree and three years current experience
in the operating room; OR, registered nurse with an associate's
degree with current certification in surgical technology (CST);
OR registered nurse with an associate's degree with current certification
nurse operating room (CNOR). All applicants must have three (3)
years current experience in the operating room. Applicants must
be qualified to teach any area of the Surgical Technology program.
PREFERRED: B.S. degree and related teaching experience.
Knowledge of a learning college and/or knowledge of learning communities.
SALARY: $40,255 per 9 months, plus benefits.
CONTRACT STATUS: Full-time, Tenure Track. Starting
Spring 2009.
SPECIAL WORKING HOURS: Days 6:30 a.m.; weekends/evenings
as needed.
TRAVEL REQUIRED: Yes, in town area clinical sites.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Coordinates clinical activities/clinical
rotations. Supervise, schedule, and monitor the grading of departmental
examinations. Update department curriculum and courses. Evaluate
student performance. Coordinate activities with outside groups.
Complete forms and surveys. Maintain liaisons with external agencies.
Recruit and advise students. Serves on college committees. Works
with students of varied multi-cultural backgrounds. Perform other
related duties as assigned.
LOCATION: Allied Health – West Campus.
