                 EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY

ENGLISH LAB FACILITATOR

ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor of Arts degree in English or related field.  PREFERRED Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Teaching/tutoring experience desired.  Excellent written and oral communication skills.  Knowledge of personal computer and applications such as word processing and instructional software packages with an understanding of the Internet and its use in education.

SALARY:  $400.00 per one hour lab/per semester.  No benefits.

 

CONTRACT STATUS:  Part-time, at-will; 19 hours per week.

SPECIAL WORKING HOURS:  Some early morning, evening and/or weekend assignments possible.  Online lab assignments also possible.  Professional development workshops mandatory.

TRAVEL REQUIRED:  No.

RESPONSIBILITIES:  Instruct assigned One-Hour Writing Labs, defined as on campus, online and dual credit labs; monitor students’ completion of assignments and provide feedback when necessary; implement One-Hour Lab policies; maintain accurate recordkeeping, especially lab attendance; be present, on time, and prepared to teach assigned labs; attend mandatory workshop training/professional development sessions; complete minimal administrative tasks as assigned; remain informed of current technological developments; participate in occasionally assigned tasks, such as beta testing of new assignments and assisting with workshops.  Beyond these responsibilities, the Stone Writing Center Director or the One-Hour Writing Lab Coordinator may assign additional duties as needed.

 

LOCATION:  The Stone Writing Center – East Campus.
