CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT SCHEDULE
2003
  • In August, Del Mar College sold the first $55 million in bonds after receiving "Double A" and "Triple A" ratings from national credit firms.
  • College Regents are selecting architectural firms for projects, and design is proceeding. .
2004
  • Design development for the South Campus is underway with construction scheduled to begin in the spring for full occupancy of that campus in the fall.
  • Infrastructure improvements for West and East Campuses should begin in the spring.
  • Expansions of the Diesel Technology Building and new construction for Aircraft Technology and Metals Technologies facilities will begin this year for completion in the summer of 2005.
  • Renovation of Richardson Auditorium is scheduled to begin in late fall.
2005
  • Construction on the Health Sciences Facilities, the Public Safety Training Facility, and the Industrial Education Facilities will begin in the spring.
  • Renovations and remodeling of several existing facilities are slated for the summer and fall.
  • Pedestrian areas and parking improvements on East and West Campuses will begin this year.
2006
  • Fall occupancy is scheduled for the Health Sciences Facilities, and Public Safety Training Facility.
  • Renovations in Garcia Sciences Building will begin late in the year.
  • West Campus Capital Improvements will be substantially completed by the fall semester.
2007
  • Remodeling of the St. Clair Science Building, Gymnasium and Aquatics Center is scheduled.
  • Remaining repair and renovation projects will be completed along with traffic, parking, and landscape improvements.
  • All Capital Improvements slated for this program will be substantially completed by the spring of 2008.
