DESCRIPTION |
| This Project
serves the following activities of the DMC Division of Occupational
Education and Technology. General:
The Space
Program primarily contains facilities for educational programs
in the following areas. These areas shall be refined and modified
as approved during the Schematic Design Phase. All programs use
Common Shared Facilities.
Nursing Education Programs
- Registered Nurse Education:
Nursing Lab/Classroom,
Nursing Lab with Beds, Communications Lab, ICU Lab, Equipment
Checkout. Health Center Clinic provisions. Very heavy Classroom
use during certain periods.
- Vocational Nurse Education:
Primarily Classrooms,
with access to other HS labs (as Registered Nursing, Surgical Tech),
Office, Support areas. Very heavy Classroom use during certain periods.
- Shared Nursing Facilities:
Very heavy Classroom use.
Shares Common Program Facilities.
Allied Health Programs
- Dental Assisting:
Dental Assisting Lab, Dental
Materials Lab, Classroom, Lab Storage, Office, Support areas. Provisions
for Clinic service, including Reception, Lobby, Consultation, Files.
Much sharing with Dental Assisting.
- Dental Hygiene:
Dental Lab/Clinic, Sterilization,
Classroom, Lab Prep, Dressing, Storage, X-Ray Rooms, Dark Room, X-Ray
Viewing, classrooms, Office, Support areas. Provisions for Clinic service,
including Reception, Lobby, Consultation, Files. Much sharing with Dental
Assisting.
- Diagnostic Medical Sonography:
Sonography
Lab, Classroom, Lab Storage Dressing, Office, Support areas.
- Medical Lab Technology:
Medical Technology
Lab, Classroom, Lab Prep/Storage, Office, Support areas.
- Occupational Therapy:
Occupational Therapy
Lab, Crafts Lab, Classroom, Lab Prep/Storage, Office, Support
areas. Provisions for Clinic service. Shares Clinic Coordinator,
Whirlpool, and Simulated Kitchen, Dining, Living and Toilet
areas with Physical Training.
- Physical Therapy:
Physical Therapy Lab,
Classroom, Lab Prep/Storage, Office, Support areas. Provisions
for Clinic service. Shares Clinic Coordinator, Whirlpool,
and Simulated Kitchen, Dining, Living and Toilet areas
with Occupational Training
- Radiology Technology:
Radiology Laboratories,
Classroom, Film Viewing, Darkroom, Film Room, Storage,
Office, Support areas.
- Respiratory Therapy:
Respiratory Therapy
Lab, Classroom, Computers, Lab Prep/Storage, Office,
Support areas.
- Surgical Technology:
Surgical Tech
Operating Rooms, Scrub Area, Substerile, Control.
Monitor areas, Classroom, Lab Prep/Storage, Dressing,
Office, Support areas.
- New Educational Programs:
Space
for future new programs such as Pharmacy Technician,
Medical Assisting and Cardiovascular Technician.
Human Services Programs
- Early Childhood (Satellite):
Serves as instructional
facility as well as child care for nominally 40 children of West Campus
students/staff, Activity Labs, Kitchen, Storage, Office, Support areas.
- Human Services:
Multipurpose Activity Room,
Storage, Office, Support areas.
- Interpreter for the Deaf/ASL:
Interpreter
Lab, A/V Learning Lab, Video Taping Rooms, ASL Classroom,
Lab Prep/Storage, Office, Support areas.
Business Technology Programs
- Health Information Technologies:
Computer Lab, Classrooms,
Office, Support areas.
Workforce and Economic Development Programs
- Health Care Services:
Medical Skills Lab, Lab Prep/Storage.
May share other labs assigned to other programs. Other facilities occur
at the South Campus.
Industrial Technology Programs
- General:
Industrial Education Programs may be grouped
into one Emerging Technologies building.
- Emerging Technologies:
Emerging Technologies
Labs, Classrooms, Storage, Office, Support areas.
- Electronics and Communications Technologies:
Electronics/Communications Labs, Classroom, Storage, Office,
Support areas.
- Industrial Education Core Courses:
Classrooms,
Computer Labs. Move from Barth Learning Center to new Emerging
Technologies building.
Common Shared Facilities
- Departmental and Shared Industrial Technology Programs:
Shared
Classroom, Computer Lab, Storage, Conference, Adjunct Office and Workroom
areas. Departmental Office and Support areas.
- Other Programs:
Shared DMC Health Clinic,
Classroom, Computer Lab, Learning Lab, A/V Lab, Equipment
Checkout, Storage, Conference, Adjunct Office and Workroom
areas. Department Office and Support areas.
- Library Expansion:
Expansion primarily serves
Health Sciences. Programming will be within this Project,
but design and construction will be included elsewhere.
- Parking and Roads:
Outdoor activities and
client parking for Early Childhood satellite. Client parking
for DMC Health Clinic services. Limited other parking facilities.
- Pedestrian Areas:
Pedestrian area development
within the Project area.
