Associate in Applied Science Degree: Interpreter Preparation
This degree is a two-year (six semesters) degree that will prepare you to take you Texas Board for Evaluation of Interpreters exam as a sign language interpreter.
Associate in Arts Degree: Interdisciplinary Studies - Deaf Education/Special Eduation Emphasis
This degree is designed to meet the core curriculum requirements for the state of Texas and provide an introduction to American Sign Language and Deaf Culture. Upon completion of this degree, you can transfer to Texas A&M Kingsville to complete your Bachelors degree in Special Education, and continue on to get an online Masters degree in Deaf Education from Texas Women’s University.

This program is designed for those who just want to learn more about deafness and achieve basic communication skills in American Sign Language. Many students who have other majors in fields where they believe they will have deaf clients choose to complete this certificate program. |
