General Regulations
For recreational use of the Del Mar College Kinesiology facilities

1. All currently enrolled academic college students and/or DMC employees have full use of all facilities during recreational hours.  Early Childhood “parent” ID cards are not an acceptable form of identification.  Contract labor employees, not directly paid by the college, are not allowed to use facilities.  In addition, Center for Workforce, Economic & Community Development and GED students are not eligible to use the recreational facilities or participate in Intramural activities.  Parents/families of Early Childhood Center students do not have access to facilities.

2. Collegiate High School students are eligible to use recreational facilities but family members of Collegiate students are not eligible.  Collegiate students (under age 16) are only allowed to access fitness center during class period.  Age requirements, such as use of fitness center must be adhered to, when not in class environment.

3. All students, faculty and staff will be required to show their current Del Mar College ID card and must sign in to use facilities.  All students and adjunct instructors must have a current semester stamp on card.  Identification cards may be obtained at the East Campus Library.  Contact Library, for specific hours of operation.

4. Recreation hours may be altered throughout the semester, to accommodate Intramurals or special events.

5. KHSR faculty and staff have the authority to immediately remove and suspend participants who violate rules. Participants are responsible for proper behavior and language, while in facility.   Length of suspension will depend on severity of infraction and may be for an indefinite amount of time.  Any suspended participant must make an appointment with the Kinesiology Department Chairperson to determine length of suspension.

6. Students and/or DMC employees must fill out a family registration card prior to bringing family members to the Kinesiology Complex, Aquatic Center, Gym or outdoor facilities.

7.  Guest privileges, for a family registration card, are as follows:

a)  immediate family members (under age 21) are eligible to use facilities.  ID verifying age must be presented upon request.
b)  one guest per family (not per family member) is allowed to enter facilities.  Guest must enter and exit with DMC ID card holder
c)  family members, listed on family registration card, may enter without ID card holder.  However, ID verification must be presented upon request.                   

8. Equipment Checkout:  Del Mar College students, faculty and staff must have current DMC ID card.  Eligible family members may use one of the following:  current driver’s license or approved alternate picture ID.  When equipment is returned, ID will be returned.

9. As a guest of the college, senior citizens are not allowed to bring a guest.  In addition, senior citizens are eligible for pool use only.

10. No one under 16 years of age will be allowed in the fitness center.  No exceptions.  Please refer to rule #2 for Collegiate High School student access.  Picture identification showing date of birth may be requested.  No exceptions.

11. Children below 12 years of age must have parent or guardian present at all times.  No exceptions.

12. No smoking, eating or drinking in facilities.  No smoking in patio area.  Participants may drink in foyer area, however,  eating/smoking must be done outdoors.  Dispose of all trash by using trash receptacles.  Water bottles (non-glass) are allowed in all areas.

13. Participants need to wear proper attire for workout purposes.  For swimming, bathing suit/swim trunks must be worn.  All fitness center participants must wear closed toed shoes.  For complete list of clothing rules, refer to specific guidelines for each facility.

14. Participants shall be held responsible for any damage done to facilities or equipment and may be responsible for repair expenses.

15. For a detailed list of rules for each facility, visit our website or review rules posted in various areas of Aquatic Center, Gymnasium or Kinesiology Complex.

16. To insure safety, additional rules may be enforced, as needed.
