GYMNASIUM RECREATION REGULATIONS

1. All recreation participants must sign in and present validated DMC ID card at the recreation desk (Gym 108), prior to entering the gym.

2. All participants will be properly attired for participation in the facility: shirt, shorts, non marking shoes, or warm up suits.

3. During basketball and/or volleyball participation, no jewelry will be permitted. Included but not limited to: piercings, earrings, rings, watches, necklaces, and/or chains.

4. The gymnasium facility will accommodate basketball, volleyball, badminton, pickle ball, table tennis, etc. No sport will dominate the court space.

5. Only one court will be used for basketball. Depending on the demand for sports participation, the supervisor may allow both courts to be used for basketball.

6. All basketball games will be played on the cross courts. There will be no full court games.

7. Because of legal liability and damage to the facilities, there will be NO DUNKING allowed on the side basketball goals.

8. All participation in sports activities is of a recreational nature with no officials being provided for any of the activities. Disagreements or arguments among participants will cause immediate termination of the game.

9. Participants may check out equipment at the equipment room by leaving their current Del Mar ID card. The participant is responsible for the proper care of the equipment.

10. All participants are responsible for proper behavior and language while in the facility. Any disrespectful behavior or foul language will result in immediate dismissal from the facility and the participant will be suspended indefinitely. (See General Regulations concerning suspension.)

11. Gymnastics equipment & exercise balls are for academic use only.

12. Volleyball/Badminton poles and nets are for academic & intramural use only. All other uses must be approved by recreation supervisor or a DMC faculty member.

13. All children below 12 years of age must have parent or guardian present at all times. No exceptions.

14. No eating or drinking in gymnasium dressing rooms, classrooms, foyers or hallways. Water is permitted.

15. Please refer to "General Regulations" for additional information.

16. To insure safety, additional rules may be enforced, as needed.
