Intramurals
Intramural Sports has moved to room G-120 (previously G 114).
They are now located in the back hall
down from the men's locker room in the gymnasium.
Welcome to Intramural Sports at Del Mar College. We invite you to
participate in an action packed competitive Intramural Sports Program.
Over 30 activities are offered featuring team and individual/dual
competition. It is the goal of the Intramurals Sports to be as broad
as possible, offering students the opportunity to participate regardless
of ability.
Intramural Sports is designed to match equally skilled competitors
in various activities to meet physical as well as recreational needs.
There are three divisions that most of the events take place in:
Men's, Women's, and Co-Rec.
Intramural Sports reserves the right to put into effect emergency
rules relative to the program in order that the program function
in a correct and secure manner.
During any of the events, no jewelry of any sort will be permitted.
Including but not limited to: a piercing, earrings, rings, watches,
necklaces, and/or chains.
Intramural Schedule
Who can play? All students that are regularly enrolled at the
college and carrying a minimum load of one hour is eligible for
intramural competition. Current employees of the college are also
eligible for intramural competition.
Eligibility Investigations The intramural sports staff will assume
responsibility of investigation of eligibility of all participants.
A validated Del Mar College ID card will be required during all
intramural activities. If you have lost it or don't have it validated
then you may present a current copy of your schedule and your driver's
license.
If an individual in question cannot provide valid identification,
the team/individual will forfeit their game/match. Note: Any individual
that the Intramural Sports Staff knows to be ineligible will not
be allowed to participate.
How do I enter? Pick up a roster/waiver located in the Gymnasium
(G110), or call 698-1337 for more information pertaining to entry
dates and schedules.
Team, individual and dual sport entries will be accepted at the
Intramural Office. For team sports, a team representative must also
attend the Captain's Meeting. Check the calendar for the times and
locations of these meetings. At these meetings, the Captain will
be given information needed to pass on to the other members of the
organization.
What is a Free Agent? Anyone who is not affiliated with a team
is considered to be a free agent. Free agents are required to attend
the captain's meeting and will be placed on a team at that time.
What sports are offered? Individual Sports: golf, bowling triplex,
racquetball, badminton, pickle ball, table tennis, tennis, fun runs,
bench press, swimming, and the 100 Mile Ultimate Challenge
Co-Rec Sports: flag football, bowling, volleyball, basketball,
softball, tennis, racquetball, and soccer
We try our hardest to include various sports that the students
and faculty would be interested in. If you have any suggestions
let us know and we will be glad to try and fit a reasonable event
in.

Assumption of Risk
Individuals are encouraged to have a physical examination and obtain
adequate health and accident insurance PRIOR TO PARTICIPATION in
Recreational Sports Activities. Individuals that participate in
Recreational sports will be doing so at their own risk. Del Mar
College is not responsible for any injury that may occur to individuals
participating in any Recreational Sports activity. Participation
in Recreational Sports is on a voluntary basis.
