For security reasons, all major exams must be taken on campus in supervised testing center. Students within driving distance of Del Mar College will take their exams in the Multiservice Center located at 3013 Ayers Street, Corpus Christi, TX 78404, Room 118. You will have to show a photo ID before you can take an exam. You will also be asked to sign a testing center agreement form stating that you understand testing center policies. This is the only time that online students will have to come to campus. All other assignments can be done at home. Students will be given several days to choose from for their exams. Whenever possible, evening and Saturday choices are included.
All exams will be done using the quiz feature of Web CT. You may see the test listed under the quiz section when you log in at home. However, the tests are set up so that you cannot take them from any location other than the testing center.
If you do not live in the Corpus Christi area, it is your responsibility to make arrangements with a nearby college to take your exams at their testing center. Most public community colleges are willing to provide this service. However, there may be a fee if you are not enrolled at that college. You are responsible for any fees related to out-of-area testing. The testing center MUST have the following equipment available for testing:
- A 233 Mhz Intel Pentium class or better processor or a Macintosh 400 Mhz Power PC G3 or faster computer
- At least 128 MB of RAM
- Windows 2000/XP or Macintosh OS X 10.3.9 or later
- Sound blaster sound card or equivalent
- Stereo quality speakers or headphones attached that will allow you to hear musical examples
- Super VGA or higher resolution monitor
- High speed Internet access
- Web CT compatible browser installed
- QuickTime 7.0 or higher player installed
If you wish to take your tests at an out-of-area site, you must provide Dr. Kairies with the following information at least two weeks before your scheduled test date:
- The name of the institution where you will be taking your exam
- The name of the person who has agreed to proctor the exam for you. (This person MUST be a full time faculty member or testing center staff member. It cannot be an adjunct faculty member, graduate assistant, student worker, secretary, etc.)
- The mailing address for the testing center (including building and room number)
- The proctor’s job title, e-mail address and telephone number
Important Note: This course is not suitable for students residing outside the United States. We cannot make testing arrangements in foreign countries.
