Karl Kemm

Karl Kemm earned a bachelor's degree at the University of New Mexico.
He studied music history and performance practice at the University of
New Hampshire for a master's degree under the guidance of Keith Polk
and the renowned music iconography specialist Mary Rasmussen. In 1989 he joined the Air Force Bands program and also began freelancing in the San Francisco Bay Area. He remains associated with the Air Force
through the Texas Air National Guard Band.

Recently he freelanced as an orchestral and early music natural horn
player throughout Texas and the neighboring states. While pursuing
Doctoral work with Teaching Fellow duties at the University of North
Texas he also served as an adjunct faculty member at Texas Woman's
University and principal horn with the Abilene Philharmonic. He
currently holds the third horn position with the Corpus Christi
Symphony. At Del Mar he teaches horn and Introduction to the Humanities.

 

 

 

 

 

Mr. Kemm is available to present highly informative and entertaining presentations about the development of the horn and other brass instruments. This presentation utilizes Mr. Kemm's personal collection of over forty-five historic instruments.
