Celebrating Diversity Workshops

Celebrating Diversity workshops use the National Coalition Building Institute (NCBI) prejudice reduction model developed by Cherie Brown. NCBI has implemented workshops all over the United States and in England, Northern Ireland, South Africa, and Israel.

The following skills are taught in Celebrating Diversity workshops:

1. Identifying the information and misinformation we have learned about other groups
2. Identifying and expressing pride in the groups to which we belong
3. Learning how groups other than our own experience mistreatment
4. Learning the personal impact of specific incidents of discrimination
5. Learning how to interrupt prejudicial jokes, remarks and slurs
