FYI: The Corpus Christi Public Libraries, Del Mar College and several other sponsors have united together to organize the city’s Fifth Annual Children’s Book Festival. Organizers designed the community-wide effort to encourage early reading and literacy activities involving parents and their children and to ensure that youngsters begin a lifetime involvement in reading.

This year’s festival features three Texas-based authors of favorite children’s books– David Davis (Jazz Cats and Ten Redneck Babies: A Southern Counting Book), Jan Peck (Way Down Deep in the Deep Blue Sea and The Giant Carrot) and Lupe Ruiz-Flores (Lupita’s Papalote/El Papalote de Lupita). These special guests will delight well over 1,600 pre-school age children already scheduled to attend the festival.
