Mayor Henry Garrett Addressing Colleges GED Graduates on June 23
Keynote speaker to share his experiences as a GED graduate from Del Mar
Over 170 students will receive their General Education Development (GED) certificates
from Del Mar College on June 23. Their accomplishment is not a small one. For
many of these students, the first step to complete the program was a hard one.
But after Thursday night, theyll begin moving toward a better future after
receiving the equivalent of a high school diploma.
As a former Del Mar GED graduate himself, Mayor Henry Garrett will serve as
this years keynote speaker. The mayor will share with graduates his own
educational experience and talk about the importance of pursuing education for
a better way of life.
The commencement ceremony begins at 7 p.m. in the East Campus Gymnasium, facing
Baldwin Blvd. For a campus map, interested individuals can go online to www.delmar.edu/maps/east.html.
