information to evaluate programs and operations.
On Tuesday, June 10, the College will recognize this Offices dedication
to providing timely, accurate, and critical information and analysis vital to
strategic planning and continuing excellence in instruction and institutional
support services.
Our office produces an enormous volume of reports, surveys, and analyses
on a regular basis, including the annual Del Mar College Statistical Profile,
says David Andrus, director of Institutional Research and Effectiveness. He
adds, In addition to our regular workload, many critical projects, like
the recent budget emergency, emerge that require immediate attention and extensive
and innovative solutions.
Andrus stated that the recent bond issue challenged the Office to develop new,
comprehensive, and innovative solutions to the special information that needs
of the College. For this project, the Office completed program relocation and
space utilization, building use analysis and reports, parking impact and support
documents for architects.
The Office also introduced Web-based survey tools for more efficient, cost-effective
surveying, developed data warehouse for enhanced analytical and reporting capabilities,
enhanced Web-based information distribution and used new tools and procedures
for more robust forecasting and trend analysis.
Other special projects range from tuition and fees research and income impact
analysis to class scheduling reports and faculty workload analysis.
Innovations for the next academic year include accelerated development of data
warehouse in preparation for conversion to a new Student Information System
