Post-Forum Drafts: Chair Jim Pierce reported that eight Post-Forum Drafts had been turned in and are now posted on the web. The other two, "Educational Support Services" and "Educational Program," will be presented in the final forums on June 24; the Post-Forum Drafts for these two will be due June 29.

Open Forum Rehearsals:

Educational Support Services: Antonio David, chair of the Educational Support Services principal committee, presented an overview of his committee's work and reviewed the recommendations and suggestions in his committee's draft. Noe Guerra pointed out the proper relationship between the Distance Learning Department and the Department of Learning Resources. The Steering Committee developed a discussion of the extent to which the College's library should meet the standards of the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL) and generally agreed that the draft should be sure to specify clearly its reference to the community college standard, as it does in several places.

Educational Program: Mary Ann Williams, chair of the Educational Program principal committee, distributed a copy of her committee's "Summary of Findings" and "Summary of Recommendations and Suggestions." She then presented an overview of her committee's work and discussed a number of the particular recommendations and suggestions in the committee's draft.

Other Discussion: Pierce said that he, the editor, and the Steering Committee will develop from the Post-Forum Drafts an "August 1" draft, that will be posted on the web on August 1, at which time the links to the initial drafts will be removed.

Next Meetings: The Steering Committee will meet on Wednesday, July 14, at 1:30 p.m. in VB-170.
